$10M of federal grant to fund Bridgeport workforce development

Officials in Bridgeport will use more than $10 million given to the city from the American Rescue Act to stimulate workforce development.  
More than $10 million is going to workforce development and second chance agencies, Mayor Joe Ganim announced.The goal is to help people find work, whether they were impacted by the pandemic, or are returning home from incarceration.
Bridgeport received a total of $110 million from the American Rescue Plan.
City officials say they listened to the public and created committees to determine how to distribute the money.
