Thousands descended on Prospect Park on Saturday to celebrate natural beauty at the tenth annual Curlfest.
The festival got started in 2014 and encourages people, particularly Black women, to embrace their curls.
"Curlfest is fun, and it allows the ability to feel really great about being a Black woman and what our hair means to us," said attendee Amirah Pierce, of New Jersey.
Attendees were offered free products and hair tutorials. Vendors were also given the opportunity to get their product out to a larger audience.
"We just wanted to reintroduce people to the brand and say, 'we're still here,'" said Lois Reid-Hines, founder of Tropic Isle Living.
