Department of Buildings officials ordered 11 people evicted today in Hunts Point after they declared the building where they were living an illegal conversion.

Officials say the building is located at 896 Irvine St.

The issue of illegal conversions has come into focus in the area recently, with officials evicting the residents of 895 Irvine St. last month after a two-apartment building was converted into a three-apartment building.

The evicted tenants are being cared for by the Red Cross.
