Police say a 12-year-old boy was stabbed at Imagination Playground at Betsy Head in Brownsville.

Officers responded to Thomas S Boyland Street and Dumont Avenue just before 3 p.m. Thursday.

The boy was stabbed below the chest, according to the NYPD.

EMS took the boy to Brookdale University Hospital. Police say he was seriously injured in the attack but is expected to make a recovery.

News 12 crews on scene observed bloodied clothing, a knife and a backpack, as well as NYPD helicopters searching the area.
