Many Brownsville residents are outraged after a teenager was shot twice while near his school Tuesday.
Lamont "Shariffe" Peebles was hit by gunfire in his back and arm while on Glenmore Avenue with friends, right near P.S. 298, police say.
Community leaders say there have been about 19 killings in the past few months and are pleading for a halt to the violence.
Peebles is recovering, and police say they've made no arrests as of yet.
