14 Time Out Market shops shut down by Health Department
DUMBO - Less than two months after opening, more than half of the restaurants in DUMBO’s Time Out Market are shut down due to multiple violations from the Department of Health.
Fourteen out of the 21 food vendors at the market were closed citing violations that the DOH says could be potentially hazardous.

The violations include food not being stored at FDA-compliant temperatures, vendors serving food without a food protection certificate, lack of hand washing facilities near one restaurant's food prep area, among a slew of others.
Time Out Market is a food hall featuring vendors from restaurants around the city.
The DOH released a statement saying, “When we inspected the Time Out Market's refrigerator, we found food at temperatures that could be potentially hazardous. We are committed to helping restaurants and food service operators achieve “A” grades and we offer many resources to help operators get there."

A representative with Time Out made a statement, saying in part: “Due to issues with our main refrigeration unit, Time Out Market New York will remain closed over the coming days to ensure the matter has been fully resolved. Our team onsite is working closely with the DOH to make all necessary adjustments, so we can reopen as soon as possible."
Time Out Market representatives also adding that no vendors will be removed from food hall, saying the temporary closure was entirely due to issues with the main refrigeration unit.
