One of the largest hip-hop cultural events offered in New York City is wrapping up this weekend after a week of festivities and programming.
The 14th annual Brooklyn Hip-Hop Festival offers panel lectures, exhibitions, movie screenings and more to showcase the positivity of hip-hop culture.
The festival will come to an end with a finale concert at the Brooklyn Bridge Park. The culmination will feature old legends sharing the stage with the next generation’s stars, including Black Star, Pharaoh Monch with DJ Boogie Blind, Mister Cee and Milo Case.
“You can’t beat an outdoor show underneath the Brooklyn Bridge” said founder Wes Jackson.
Organizers say the initiative is to celebrate and preserve the hip-hop legacy of promoting artistic progression, community building and social change by bringing together lovers of the great culture.
