Gleny Vargas, mother of 15-year-old Oscar, says he is fighting for his life after he was stabbed multiple times earlier this week inside an MTA bus.
Police confirm the assault happened Tuesday afternoon on a Bx38 bus as it was approaching Bartow Avenue and Gunther Avenue. They say two men began to argue with the teenager. The exchange of words turned violent when one man punched and kicked Oscar, as the other used a knife to stab him multiple times in the chest.
Vargas said she received the call about what happened to her son while she was at work.
"It's like I died in real life," she said.
Oscar has gone through two surgeries and is expected to have a third one on Monday. Vargas said she is traumatized to see her son in the conditions he is in.
"He can’t really speak, because of all the pain he has, and he can’t really move or do anything," she said.
Police have released pictures of the two men they are searching for. They told News 12 the investigation is still ongoing. They encourage anyone who has information to contact the Crime Stoppers at 1-800-577-TIPS.
