A teen is facing charges for posting a social media threat against a Queens school and then showing up with a gun in his backpack on Thursday, according to police.

Authorities say an investigation was launched after someone reported the social media post threatening to commit a shooting at Cardozo High School.

The loaded handgun was found inside the student’s backpack after being questioned at the scene.

Although the incident was terrifying, the police commissioner says it shows that the law enforcement system is doing everything right.
