18-year-old man, teen charged with assaulting MTA bus driver

An 18-year-old and 16-year-old have been charged after a 45‑year‑old MTA bus driver was hit in the face with a pellet gun in Mill Basin on Saturday.

According to police, 18‑year‑old Yonathan Asulin has been charged with two counts of assault, reckless endangerment, and criminal possession of a weapon. The 16‑year‑old is charged with two counts of assault and reckless endangerment.

They were arrested on Saturday.

Police say the MTA worker was struck with the pellet gun at East 56th Street and Avenue U.

The bus driver had minor injuries and was not hospitalized.
