The first baby to be born in New York City in 2015 arrived in Brooklyn.
A Sheepshead Bay couple welcomed their baby boy, Maxim Olenyukh, into the world exactly at midnight at Coney Island Hospital, weighing 8 pounds 8 ounces.
Maxim's mom Olena says she was a week overdue and couldn't wait to meet her first born baby, but never expected what a surprise his birth would be. News 12 is told both mother and son are doing well.
Diapers.com is offering free diapers for a whole year to the newborn as a gift.
The second New York baby of the year arrived just one second later in the Bronx.
