Two City Council committees came together to hold a joint oversight hearing on the current state of sexual harassment policies and best practices on Thursday.

The goal of the hearing was to ensure all New Yorkers are safe and feel safe from sexual harassment in their workplaces and communities.

"The 2018 reform measures were a big step in the right direction that sexual harassment will not be tolerated at city agencies," said Council Member Lincoln Restler.

Stakeholders and advocates also provided recommendations to improve the current systems during the hearing.
