Two former New York City corrections officers were sentenced today for running a prison fight club at Rikers Island in 2008 that led to the death of 18-year-old Christopher Robinson.
Michael McKie and Khalid Nelson pleaded guilty in October to running the fight club and allowing the beating death of Robinson.
McKie received two years in prison, while Nelson will spend one year behind bars. Due to time served, McKie may be out in as little as three months.
For Charnel Robinson, Christopher's mother, she says no amount of prison will bring her son back.
Robinson and her attorney say they are considering filing a lawsuit against the city.
