Two men from Brooklyn officially launched their own line of comics in November, right out of their Bensonhurst basement.
John Svedese and Patrick Hickey Jr. launched their company Legacy Comix back in November with a planned six-comic run. The two created a Kickstarter campaign to raise $2,500 for publishing. Instead, they raised nearly $3,000 in just a few hours.
They now have over $6,000 raised, and the creators say they are hoping their books bring a sense of nostalgia to readers.
"We want them to take away the way that they used to feel when they read comics in the '80s and '90s. When they went to the newsstand, and they were looking for something different. Something unique," Patrick said.
The two say the books are expected to be released by February.
