A man and two officers had to be hospitalized after a police car crashed while trying to avoid a child in the street.
Police were rushing to a scene in East New York when they accidentally hit a man who was trying to save a boy who darted out into the street.
Officials say the incident took place just before 7 p.m. Saturday on News Lots Avenue and Jerome Street.
According to police, the patrol car swerved to avoid the child and instead hit a pedestrian who appeared to be trying to save that boy.
The squad car went on to jump a curb, crash into a building, tree and parked car.
Officials say two police officers were taken to Kings County Hospital and the 32-year-old pedestrian who was hit was taken to Brookdale Hospital.
All three were treated for non-life threatening injuries.
News 12 is still waiting to hear the boy's condition.
