Police say two teens are recovering after being attacked on a 2 train platform on Monday night. According to police, a 19 and 18-year-old man were attacked at the Prospect Avenue Station. The attack happened five minutes away from the Freeman Street Station, where an 18-year-old man was stabbed from behind. The two incidents happened on the same day, just a few hours apart from each other. Police say the pair were waiting on the northbound platform of the 2 train. The 18-year-old was approached by a man and an altercation followed. The suspect pulled out a knife and stabbed the 18-year-old multiple times throughout his body. A 19-year-old man who was just a bystander, was attempting to call 911. When the attacker noticed, he tried to snatch the phone while punching and kicking the bystander throughout his face and head. The two victims are expected to be OK. The attacks come after what Gov. Kathy Hochul called the safest year on subways since 2009.
