A young boy has returned home to his mother after he was found wandering alone for 45 minutes.

Police say they picked up a 2-year-old boy who was walking on Route 9-W alone on Sunday afternoon and took him to police headquarters.

Officers say that’s when the father of the boy, 22-year-old Justin Tierney, called saying his son disappeared.

Police say Tierney was asleep when the little boy left.

Tierney is facing charges for endangering the welfare of child.
