A man recently arrested in a 2021 cold case murder returned to court on Friday.
Shawn McLaurin stands accused of fatally shooting 49-year-old Shawn Jefferson in White Plains on New Year’s Eve.
Investigators say it took multiple law enforcement agencies years of work to finally identify and apprehend McLaurin.
The official indictment was filed during today’s proceedings. Officials say the case will be moved to Westchester County Court.
McLaurin was also remanded to the Westchester County Jail.
