A 16-year-old boy was fatally shot in the head in Bed-Stuy on Monday evening, according to NYPD.
Neighbors told News 12 that the victim is a teenager who lived on the block where the shooting took place. Police say he was pronounced dead at Woodhull Hospital.
Law enforcement closed down Marcus Garvey Boulevard to investigate the scene. Witnesses told News 12 off-camera that a group of teenage boys was outside when they heard three to four shots ring out.
"Young children are getting killed by young kids," said one Brooklyn resident. "It's horrible and it makes no sense. You can't walk the streets yourself anytime, you might get hit by a stray bullet."
The NYPD says no arrests have been made at this time.
