Mask up: Gov. Hochul issues air quality alert for NYC

Gov. Kathy Hochul's administration issued an air quality advisory for New Yorkers for Wednesday.
The notice comes as more than 300 wildfires continue to burn in Canada, negatively affecting the tri-state.
The New York City Health Department says that while they currently project air quality index to be in the moderate range (between 51-100) today, wind patterns can quickly change without notice.
They also say the city could see worse air quality conditions Thursday.
Anyone with asthma or any respiratory illnesses should check the air quality index before they head out as it's expected to increase Wednesday. Masks will also be available at transit hubs like Grand Central Terminal, Roberto Clemente State Park and along Atlantic Avenue in Brooklyn.
The governor is also asking camps to limit outdoor activity for children and to provide them with masks as needed.
