Shark patrols continue following latest sighting on South Shore beaches

Patrols continue today across the South Shore waters after swimmers were pulled from the water again Thursday due to a shark sighting.

The latest sighting was at Robert Moses Field 5.

Meanwhile, there is a growing number of agencies increasing efforts to monitor the shoreline.

The Town of Hempstead is using drones, Jet Skis, and boats to patrol the beach.

Suffolk County says it plans on buying two new drones to feedback video to lifeguards in real time.

As News 12 reported, there have been five suspected shark bites between Robert Moses and Quogue since Monday.
