Family celebrates life of rapper Shawn Onit on 3-year anniversary of his death

Three years after Deshawn Reid, also known as Shawn Onit, was shot and killed in front of his home, family and friends are still grieving the loss.
Reid was an up-and-coming Brooklyn rapper who had his life cut short back in 2020, when police say he was shot in front of his apartment building on Aug. 14. He left two young sons behind.
Reid’s family members say that the rapper made a difference in the Flatbush community and helped those around him.
The NYPD says that the investigation into this case is still ongoing, and the Reid family says they don’t plan on giving up until the person responsible is found.
