A Bronx organization is helping the community's youth process and express their emotions by writing about them.

Write Your Way Out was founded by Minister Kwame Thompson with the hopes of giving back to Bronx youth by teaching them new skills.

The program is located at 226 Soundview Ave. and is a safe space for youth. The program offers a studio where youth can create podcasts, take writing classes, and collaborate with each other in a safe space.

Minister Thompson says he hopes the program helps Bronx youth understand their feelings.

"There’s a lot going on outside of these walls. There's a lot of conflict happening, there’s block against block. Neighborhood against neighborhood and building against building… in this space, all that stays outside," said Minister Thompson.
