MTA preparing to keep New Yorkers safe ahead of Ophelia

Officials warn those who are going outside to be aware of the massive amounts of rain and heavy wind expected to come.

The MTA is getting ready to ensure the safety of all New Yorkers, as the city gears up for Tropical Storm Ophelia.

The city is currently on alert for the tropical storm that is set to approach at midnight on Saturday.  

“We have this emergency truck that’s equipped with 4,600 gas-permitted pumps along with other pumping equipment and what’s needed to respond to a condition,” said Level 2 Supervisor Miguell Torrado, from New York City Transit.
