New survey aims to tackle street harassment across the boroughs

A new survey is looking to tackle street harassment in New York City, and organizers with the Mayor's Office to End Domestic and Gender-based Violence as well as the New York City Commission on Gender Equity took to the streets of the Bronx to spread the word on Wednesday.
Last week, the New York City Street Harassment Prevention Advisory Bord launched a survey to help determine how and where New Yorkers are experiencing street harassment. It's all in an effort to identify communities at a higher risk so that resources can be distributed to those who need them.
"This is the first time that it has happened in New York City, and it's really important because we're collecting this information as a way to inform policies and programs moving forward, as a way to prevent and end street harassment," says Brittany Bye, community outreach coordinator with the Commission on Gender Equity.
