Four and a half years after 32-year-old Kawaski Trawick was tased, shot and killed by police in his apartment, his mother, Ellen Trawick, is calling for officers Brendan Thompson and Herbert Davis to be fired from the force.

Video of the 2019 incident was caught on the officers' body cameras. It shows Trawick being tased and then fatally shot in his kitchen. According to investigators, Trawick called 911 after he was locked out of his apartment.

Two weeks ago, NYPD Deputy Commissioner Tania Kinsella recommended that the officers not be punished after an internal NYPD trial and investigation. Advocates say they are expecting NYPD Commissioner Edward Caban to make a final decision on the officers' employment status this week.

On Tuesday, advocates and elected officials rallied alongside Trawick's mother outside of City Hall, calling for the firing of both officers.

Loved ones and enraged New Yorkers are also demanding that Mayor Eric Adams to meet with the family before a decision is made. The mayor addressed the ask during today's media availability inside City Hall and said he would have no problem meeting with the family after a final determination is made.

News 12 reached out to the NYPD for more information and was told that the disciplinary process remains ongoing.
