Brooklyn junior high school cuts ribbon on new theater and gymnasium
The new theater took three years to complete. Renovations on the gymnasium were completed over the summer.

Meyer Levin Junior High School held a ribbon cutting Monday morning to unveil a new theater and gymnasium.
The performing arts school caters to students of various interests – from singing to dancing to sports. When Jamie Hendrickson was hired as the school's principal, it was a no-brainer to renovate the spaces her students use every day to succeed.
"It is a labor of love," said Hendrickson. "It's a part of our overall vision to take this space and rebuild it so that the community can have access and have activities and programs to enjoy the space."
The new theater took three years to complete. Renovations on the gymnasium were completed over the summer.
The school celebrated the ribbon cutting with performances by students and visits from elected officials.
