Police have arrested and charged a 43-year-old man in the Monday fire of a multifamily home in Bensonhurst.

Investigators say Illya Kobzaryuk was arrested and charged with arson Tuesday for allegedly setting his apartment building on fire.

A fire broke out on the second floor of a three-floor multifamily home on Monday evening, according to authorities. They say the fire broke out in an apartment that was badly cluttered. Officials were investigating the fire to possibly be suspicious.

One person suffered a minor injury and is expected to be OK.

Neighbors tell News 12 Kobzaryuk lived in the building and has caused many problems over the years including breaking windows and making threats.
