A 74-year-old woman was struck and killed at an East Flatbush intersection on Tuesday afternoon, according to police.

Law enforcement officials say that the victim was found on the roadway at the intersection of New York Avenue and Avenue D with severe trauma to the head and body trauma. She was taken to Kings County Hospital and pronounced dead.

“The woman must’ve slipped and fell on the speed bump on the road and she was laying on the ground and the driver did not see her there and ran over her," said Flatbush resident Danna Lennon-Thomas, who says her friend witnessed the scene.

Officers say that the 28-year-old driver of the vehicle that struck her remained on the scene. There are no arrests at this time.
