"I live right next to a park and often times I have to cross the street because the teenagers are there smoking weed. I understand it's legal but if there's no smoking allowed in the park, why isn't anyone policing the park?" asked a caller on News 12's Ask Your Advocate show Monday night.

No one can smoke anything in New York City parks, pools, gardens, beaches or boardwalks.

A city Parks Department spokesperson said, "Our Parks Enforcement Patrol officers’ first course of action is to educate parkgoers on our rules before issuing a summons or citation. Our parks have long been smoke-free and remain so."

Violators could receive a $50 ticket.
