A group of volunteers is looking to elevate the community's safety in Sheepshead Bay to aid their neighbors.

The Local Community Patrol (LCP) can be spotted in bright-red clothing on Avenue U, working in tandem with law enforcement acting as an extra set of eyes and ears.

"We're not a crime fighter we're not a vigilante all we do is provide information to the community," said LCP team leader Kent Woo.

The group has grown since starting up in 2023 and even has groups in Bensonhurst as well, making sure even more Brooklyn residents feel safe near their homes.

LCP patrols three days a week and is always looking for new volunteers.
