The MTA will start its phase 3 of construction on the G train line signal modernization on Monday morning.

The agency has a plan for rail riders who will be impacted.

Crews will work to repair key rails and equipment in North Brooklyn.

Between Bergen Street and Hoyt Street is a very sharp turn that the trains take. It is the center of those infrastructure upgrades but fixing it will mean shutting down service until Sept. 3.

While the work is underway, G trains will not run between the Bedford-Nostrand Avenue and Church Avenue stations.

The B93 shuttle bus service will run in its place between Bedford-Nostrand Avenue and Jay Street.

In a statement, MTA Construction and Development President Jamie Torres-Springer says he knows the delays with required transfers are inconvenient for commuters. However, he adds that they "appreciate customers' understanding as we work to modernize a signal system that dates back to the FDR administration."

With shuttles running on those now-closed G line stops, the MTA promises riders can expect one shuttle every 1 to 4 minutes in the morning, afternoon and evening on weekdays. Riders can expect a shuttle every 5 to 10 minutes during late evening and overnight hours.
