On Saturday, Baldwin will be hosting its first Porchfest.

A total of 11 bands, singers and musicians are scheduled perform on their porches throughout the day.

The event was organized by the Baldwin Civic Association. Organizers say the community event will have something for everyone to enjoy.

"We have rhythm & blues, Irish music, gospel, folk music, classical and modern. We have every type of genre you can think of for the event. We are hoping this is the start of many more Porchfests in Baldwin," explained Marguerite Keller, from the civic association.

Luke Waldron will be playing his saxophone.

"I am very excited about this event. I will be playing with my band. This is great for the community," says Waldron.

The Baldwin Porchfest will kick off at the George Sumner Kellogg House on Merrick Road at 12 p.m.

The event is free to the public.
