The Brownsville community is mourning the death of 47-year-old Freddie Weston, who was shot in the head late Wednesday night inside the Rockaway Avenue subway station.

City data shows the 73rd Precinct, which covers the station, has seen the most shootings in the city this year, with transit crime in the area up over 40% compared to last year. Just last week, a 76-year-old man was attacked at the same station. Earlier this year, an MTA conductor was slashed.

Police are still searching for Weston’s shooter and are urging anyone with information to come forward.
