Dilyard says these are all effects of the Earth’s warming temperatures. Superstorm Sandy, 12 years ago, Dilyard says was supposed to be the "wake up call" that New Yorkers needed to see the effects of the warming planet at the home front.
Here in Brooklyn, floods, fires, a month long drought, and the driest fall in New York City on record, are all more wake up calls, Dilyard believe, we should not ignore.
He suggests taking shorter showers, eliminating your usage of plastic water bottles, walking instead of driving when able, and take advantage of mass transit.
"Little actions." to our daily routines, Dilyard calls them, can make a big difference.
