A woman who lives in a Claremont building says she has no heat or hot water and has to use space heaters to keep herself warm during the cold temperatures.

Charlene Banks says she has lived in the building on East 169th Street for 17 years.

"Landlords need to step up to the plate," she said.

News 12 visited the building and found that only one of the elevators was working.

Banks told News 12 she's been in court for a year fighting to get the landlord to make permanent repairs, but nothing has changed.

News 12 called Fordham Fulton realty Corp., which is listed as the buildings management, but calls went to voicemail.

Tenants say their biggest concern is the building catching on fire.
