Soaring egg prices put Brooklyn bakeries in a bind

Egg prices are soaring since over 13 million chickens were killed off in the U.S. due to the bird flu.
The effects can be felt in your favorite local bakeries. Anthony Pierdipino, of Circo's Bakery in Bushwick, told News 12 that a case of eggs around Christmas time cost him around $150-$160. In the last couple of weeks, those cases have costed upward of $225. He says his business is really going to feel it toward the end of the month.
Over at Fortunato Brothers in Williamsburg, owner Biagio Fortunato says he's estimating around the same costs.
"We just take it one day at a time here" he says.
