300-year-old Marine Park home set to become neighborhood's first museum
The farmhouse, which was originally built in 1720 and expanded in 1800, has been a staple of the Marine Park neighborhood.

One of Brooklyn's oldest homes is preparing to open its doors to the public. The Lott House, a New York City landmark, will begin interior renovations next year.
The farmhouse, which was originally built in 1720 and expanded in 1800, has been a staple of the Marine Park neighborhood. Now visitors will get a behind-the-scenes look at the Lott family that lived there and the slaves, migrants and others who called the place home.
“There will be exhibitions, there will be interactive programs, in many of the rooms we will have an accent wall or some portion that will remain as is," said President of Friends of the Lott House Alyssa Loorya.
The project is estimated to take 18 to 24 months to complete.
