Strong winds knocked out power for more than 100 customers along Ocean Parkway, and some homes are still in the dark this morning.

Con Edison crews have restored power in many areas, but their outage map shows that some buildings remain without electricity. And remember, one "customer" could mean an entire apartment building.

Streetlights are on in some spots, but Con Edison says more outages could happen as the wind continues. Crews are working to restore power as quickly as possible.

How to Stay Safe in High Winds:

  • Charge your phone

in case the power goes out.

  • Secure loose items

outside so they don’t blow away.

  • Stay away from downed power lines

    —they can be dangerous.

Drivers should also watch out for fallen trees and branches on the roads.
