If you enjoy playing the lottery, your Mega Millions tickets are about to be more than double the price.

The New York State Gambling Commission says as of April 5, one ticket to playing the Mega Millions will cost you $5 from the previous $2.

The increase, of course, has the community talking.

The commission says the price increase will be "counter-balanced by improving the overall odds", as it will decrease the second set of numbers from 25 to 24.

In Mega Millions history, the commission says this will only be the second time the price has increased.

Ticket sellers say they do not seem too concerned for now. They say they hope it brings more money into their pockets - as well as the city's.
