Eyewitness: Man's lower body engulfed in flames outside Bushwick warehouse

The eyewitness says he and another man with the help of a fire extinguisher and a jacket were able to put out the flames.

Police say the responded to a 911 call of a man on fire at 1177 Flushing Ave. around 11 a.m. Monday

Officials say the 41-year-old man was found with multiple burns on his body.

A local business owner says when he noticed the fire, he ran over to help and that's when he saw the man's whole lower body engulfed in flames.

"I heard somebody calling out that there was a person on fire. As I entered the parking lot, I saw a man laying on the ground with his lower extremities on fire," said a local business owner who wanted to remain anonymous.

The eyewitness says he and another man with the help of a fire extinguisher and a jacket were able to put out the flames.

The man was taken to Wycoff Hospital where he remains in critical condition, but stable according to police.

The cause of fire is still under investigation.
