Rebuilding Brooklyn: Church Avenue subway station getting new entrance, elevators

The slow churn of change is happening at the Church Avenue subway station.
The 118-year-old station which services the B and Q lines is getting a third entrance and elevators to make the station accessible.
It's one of 15 stations in Brooklyn being transformed to become ADA accessible.
"That's not just for people with disabilities its for people with strollers, people with shopping carts, equipment they deserve to get in and use our system," said Jamie Torres-Springer, president of MTA Construction & Development.
There will also be two new stairways and ADA compliance upgrades made to the existing boarding areas and platform edges.
The project is expected to be completed by the end of the year.
