A Brownsville woman is fighting to prove her innocence after she says she was wrongfully charged and left injured by police during her arrest.

Crystal Rollerson is charged with grand larceny for allegedly stealing a wallet from a man in Borough Park on April 2.

"This is a nightmare and you coming for me, I feel violated, I feel disrespected," she said.

On May 5, Rollerson was arrested leaving her in shock and disbelief.

She was brought to the 66th Precinct, where she said police showed her photos they believed proved she stole the mans wallet.

Rollerson claims she was at work at the time of the theft.

"I work in Williamsburg and the alleged crime happened in Borough Park, which is impossible for me to have been here when I was at my desk," she said. "It's just crazy."

During the arrest she said she was handled roughly and her handcuffs were put on too tight leading to her shoulder injury that may require surgery.

"I have a dislocation on my right shoulder and they put me in a sling," she said.

Rollerson sought support from local clergy.

"She wasn't a threat, she went on her own into the police car," said the Rev. Kevin McCall. "She wasn't a threat at all. Why use excessive force? Why use handcuffs that cause these injuries?"

The Rev. McCall calling on the Brooklyn District Attorney's Office to dismiss the charges and clear Rollerson's name.

News 12 reached out the DA's office, but it had no comment.
