NYPD: 17-year-old moped driver killed, passenger seriously injured in Midwood collision
The driver was pronounced dead at the scene. The passenger was taken to a hospital.

A moped driver was killed and a passenger was seriously injured in a collision Monday afternoon in Midwood.
Police say it happened around 3:30 p.m. on East 8th Street.
They say the 17-year-old moped driver, who has not yet been identified, collided with a Genesis G80 that was pulling into a driveway. The moped then struck an unoccupied Honda.
The driver was pronounced dead at the scene. The passenger was taken to a hospital.
The NYPD’s Highway Investigation Collision Squad is investigating the matter.
The driver of the Genesis G80 was uninjured.
