The city has announced the relocation of the Department of Transportation's concrete recycling plant on the Columbia Street Waterfront District this August.
It also adds the yard will be closed by the end of the year.

"We’re thrilled, we haven’t been able to open our windows since it’s been here. We're just excited to be able to have fresh air," said Rosenthal.
News 12 has reported calls from residents to shut down the controversial plant since it arrived last year as residents say it impacted their quality of life. It was originally at the South Brooklyn Army Terminal in Sunset Park, but city officials say it moved to make space for the offshore wind hub taking it's place.
Business owners like Lindsey Jones of the Hop Shop say the plant impacts business.
"We had all the windows open and just gusts of wind came by. A bunch of concrete dust was like flew in here. We had to rush to close the windows. It was it was kind of a mess," said Jones.
The city says it plans on relocating the plant, and while locals are calling it a win, employees in the area like Yuka say they feel for the neighborhood it goes to next.
The city says it is still finalizing where the plant will be relocated.
