'Millions of dollars': Sliwa claims Cuomo allies attempted to bribe him to quit mayoral race

GOP nominee Curtis Sliwa claims allies of former Gov. Andrew Cuomo bribed him on a number of occasions to drop out of the mayor’s race. The price? He says millions.
“Overtures were made by people I have known over the years. They are obviously Cuomo supporters and they have offered millions of dollars for me to basically not run the campaign, to drop out,” said Sliwa.
News 12 sat down with him today in a one-on-one to ask him about the claims.
“The only person who has ever dropped out of the race in any capacity is Andrew Cuomo, when he dropped out as governor and fled to Hamptons because he feared impeachment. He’s the king of dropouts. I’m not dropping out,“ said Sliwa.
When asked if he had any concrete proof of the alleged bribe, Sliwa told News 12 that he did not.
Sliwa called the alleged bribe “unethical“ and “potentially criminal.”
Former Gov. Andrew Cuomo is on record denying the claims.
News 12 asked Sliwa if he advised the Trump administration of the situation. He said he has not had any correspondence with President Donald Trump nor anyone from his administration.
On Thursday, during Mayor Eric Adams’ housing announcement, he was asked to comment on the bribery claims.
“The only fact about Curtis Sliwa is that he is a liar. That is the only fact… it’s almost laughable anytime we quote something from Curtis Sliwa,” Adams responded.
