News 12 was at LaGuardia airport to monitor how people’s holiday travel is going.

AAA says this year’s holiday travel is expected to set a record.

They project at least 122.4 million people will travel at least 50 miles from home between Dec. 20 and Jan. 1.

Travelers like Victoria Fernandez weren't sure if Tuesday’s wintry weather would impact their plans.

“They sent us a message saying if we want to change because of the weather but honestly it’s been pretty good," said Fernandez.

The Transportation Security Administration projects that Dec. 28 will be the busiest travel day. People like Charlie Ruiz say the best option is to be prepared.

“Plan ahead of time, go with sufficient time, have a backup plan," said Ruiz.

The TSA says if you plan on traveling with gifts, it's better to use a giftbag as opposed to wrapping them. That way you can avoid the possibility of being unwrapped. They also say to remember your passport or REAL ID.
