A major drug bust in Brooklyn, after investigators said they shut down a smoke shop in Prospect Lefferts Gardens.

The state’s Office of Cannabis Management (OCM) said they found more than 220 pounds of illegal drugs products inside of 645 Rogers Ave., which had a street value of $1.4 million.

Clive Blackwood owns the building next door, which houses a day care center for young children.

“Sometimes I'm here [standing outside] and I can barely breathe because I'm right near the smoke,” said Blackwood.

The OCM shared photos of what they found inside the location, which include bags of illegal products and packaging similar to popular cookie products.

“First, they said they were going to open a restaurant, a Chinese restaurant. And all of a sudden, I see they start moving stuff, and I look and there’s a sign put up,” said Blackwood.

He told News 12 the smoke shop opened last fall and had a constant flow of customers.

“As late as the night is, till wee morning - because they were open late - they’d come and go, come and go,” said Blackwood.

But now no one is coming and going, and Blackwood said he feels the children at the day care are safer.

“I feel good,” said Blackwood. “I mean, if they rent to somebody, I hope they don’t bring no more drugs here.”

The OCM said that so far this year, it has closed 22 illegal cannabis shops and more than 550 illicit storefronts across the state.
