Power outages are still affecting neighborhoods across Brooklyn days after this week’s snowstorm.

As of Thursday morning, 1,879 customers were without power, according to Con Edison’s outage map. That number may change as crews continue making repairs.

In Bed-Stuy, Con Edison crews were working along Macon Street early Thursday. Workers told News 12 that power had just been restored on that block and they were wrapping up. But many others across the borough are still waiting.

Con Edison says most of the outages are weather-related. After heavy snowfall earlier this week, melting snow mixed with road salt can seep into underground electrical equipment. That can cause damage and lead to outages.

In one section of Bed-Stuy, about 100 customers lost power across six separate outages.

The outage map also shows larger pockets of customers without electricity in Williamsburg and Crown Heights.

Customers are being urged to report their outage directly to Con Edison to receive personalized updates by phone about restoration times.

One Bed-Stuy resident, who did not want to appear on camera, said the outage made for a long and uncomfortable night.

“It was no hot water, no heat, no anything — and I had to get up for work,” she said. “I couldn’t sleep last night. It took about from seven yesterday morning until around 5:30 this morning, so it was terrible.”

Some customers across the borough are being told their power may not be restored until Friday night, depending on the extent of the damage.

Con Edison crews remain on scene in several neighborhoods working to bring customers back online.
