Police say that two people broke into a home in Borough Park on Sunday evening.

Officials say the home was located near 39th Street and Fort Hamilton Parkway. They say the thieves took more than $3,000, cellphones and various electronics before escaping the area.

News 12 spoke with the woman whose apartment was broken into. She said she got a call from her neighbor, who told her two men were attempting to get into her apartment to collect items for a person who no longer lived there.

By the time she told him she had no clue who they were, the two had already broken into her apartment.

The victim’s neighbor says he chased the suspects down the block and was able to recover a PlayStation, jewelry, and important documents that they also attempted to steal.

The $3,000 was the woman’s rent money.

No arrests have been made.
